First-Year Housing Assignments
First-year students have now received their housing assignments for the upcoming academic year. They can log in to their Housing Portal to view their room assignment and roommate (if applicable). Students also received a link to Roomie to access a 3D interactive model of their room to help them plan. Students will also be able to select a check-in appointment upon receiving their housing assignment.
Second-Round of Housing Selection (Continuing Students)
Who Participates?
- Continuing or transfer students under the residency requirement
- Students enrolled or re-enrolled after April 10 and before July 1
- Students enrolled after July 1 will be contacted individually and manually assigned
When Is It?
Wednesday, July 15, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (EST). Students will be assigned a selection time and receive instructions from our office on how to view it in the Housing Portal.
During Selection, Students May Choose (Based on Availability):
- A single room
- A double room with a chosen roommate
- If your student wants to find others also searching for a roommate, have them follow this link.
- A remaining bed space in a double (with an existing roommate)
Disability-Related Housing Accommodations
Students requesting disability-related housing accommodations should:
- Review the process at housing.wfu.edu/accommodations
- Submit their request through the Housing Portal
- Provide documentation from a medical provider.
Requests submitted after June 1 — particularly during the second-round timeline — will be reviewed based on available inventory. If your student is admitted after June 1, please contact our office directly so we can support the next steps.

Shipping Details
When ordering, see below on how to best ensure the package gets to your student:
- For incoming students (i.e., Class of 2030) who have not received their campus box number yet (box numbers are typically assigned in late July/early August):
Student Name
1834 Wake Forest Road
Box 2030
Winston-Salem, NC 27109
IMPORTANT: Box 2030 is a temporary address for new students to have items shipped to campus; it is not your student’s permanent box number. Once a box number is assigned, please do not ship to 2030. Students can find their mailbox information HERE.
Popular items tend to go quickly, so we encourage you to shop early. Whether you’re helping your student feel settled or just want to avoid last-minute packing stress, we’re here to help make move-in a success.
Shipping your own items? Please do not ship any belongings until two weeks prior to your student’s arrival date.
